April 2023 Eugenia

We have also received a report from co-worker Eugenia from Russian occupied territory:

I am very glad that at this time I am able to write to you to say "thank you" and share what is happening in our lives now. Our life has changed very radically; there are days when I forget how bad everything is around me for a moment, but then I hear the next explosion and it becomes very scary. We very much know that our only one hope is in God and that only through His grace are we still alive. Nothing can happen to us without His will. Thankfully we are still able to help people who are in dire need. At the moment I am assisting families who stayed here in the occupied town as well as some who have moved away from their homes.

The Ost… family is raising seven boys and remains in a nearby village under Russian occupation. The eldest son went to serve in the army but was seriously injured and is being treated. Neither parent has a job as it is now almost impossible to find anything in the village.  In order to get a job, the new authorities here require anyone who wants to work to apply for a Russian passport. This family is not willing to take that step. But there is good news from this family - they are expecting another baby.

This letter is from a lady named Galya and her young autistic son that we wrote about in the Fall 2022 newsletter. Our co-worker Eugenia keeps in contact with her after Galya evacuated to Ukrainian territory:

"Thank you for all your help. It is especially important to me when I do not know what to do. My son requires many physical and psycological treatments which is very expensive. I take my son to special classes and he slowly begins to understand something but still lives in his own world. Right now my son’s physical skills seem to be regressing and his father refuses to help and does not want to hear anything about it so it is very encouraging for me to know that I am not alone.”

We are thankful to still have a roof over our heads, something to eat, and are alive by the grace of God.  Please remember to pray for us, our own families, and the families we minister to.  I won't get tired of saying this:  may God bless you, dear brothers and sisters for your priceless work❤ and may God's mercy abide with you.
